Quality Control

In the healthcare sector, quality control and assurance of drugs is critical. A first for the state, MMDSL assures thorough testing and adherence to regulatory criteria for all drugs provided to government health facilities.

All drugs procured in the state are first delivered to the warehouses, where batches are collected and submitted for testing. Quality assurance is crucial as it directly impacts patient safety. Through testing, we can detect and rectify any potential defects, contamination, or deviations from established standards that could pose a risk to patients.

When the Senior Specialist receives the quality report and verifies that the drugs have passed the quality test only are the drugs permitted to be distributed to the various health facilities across the districts.

This process helps maintain consistency and quality in the manufacturing process and ensures that each batch of medicine meets the required standards, reducing the risk of variability in potency or formulation. Implementing quality assurance protocols in the State aids in the prevention of the distribution of substandard drugs.

By upholding these standards, MMDSL ensures that every drug reaching the health facilities is of certified quality, reflecting our commitment to the well-being of our patients.

Quality Process

A simple representation of the process -

1. The indenter places an indent for a specific drug/drugs.

2. Once the requested drugs are procured, they are sent to the respective warehouses after which they are sent for quality check.

3. If drugs pass the quality test, they are released from the warehouses, which then send the drugs to the health facilities. However, during urgent needs, the drugs, after being received at the State Warehouse, are immediately dispatched to the districts after the quality control division verifies that the test report furnished by the manufacturer is of standard quality or meets IP standards. Following that, samples are also collected and sent to the state drug testing lab or any other authorized lab for quality retests.
